Christmas Holiday Energy Savers

Posted on Dec 1, 2009

It is good practice to turn appliances off when not in use. A photocopier on power-save still requires 90% of the regular standing energy consumption, translating to 14kg of CO2 per machine over the holidays.

A set of 100 Christmas tree lights used for 10 hours, generates enough CO2 to fill 5 party balloons per day. That may not seem like a lot, but with around 25m households in Britain, that soon adds up!

Switching from conventional to LED Christmas lights can reduce your energy consumption by 90%, and they also generate less heat, so your tree will be safer!
